Flat Rock Playhouse includes THE VAGABOND PLAYERS.  It was in 1937, when a group of performers, led by Robroy Farquhar, organized themselves as the Vagabond Players. They worked in a variety of places over the course of three years until 1940 when they found themselves in the Blue Ridge region of Western North Carolina. The tourist and local community welcomed them with open arms when they presented their first summer season of plays in a 150 year-old grist mill they had converted into The Old Mill Playhouse at Highland Lake. Due to the successful season that summer, they returned in 1941. 

Downtown Hendersonville is culturally lively mountain community with 16 blocks that constitute it as a historical town that can take you back in time.
